Climb, or the fog takes you
Two double-sided 24x24" round neoprene mats built for 1490 Doom: cobblestone paired with forest, and swamp paired with mud. They're in production. Sign up and we'll email you the moment they're ready to order.
The world is going under
1490 Doom is a skirmish game from BUER Games set the year the Creeping Death rose: a toxic fog that kills livestock, spoils harvests, and drives everyone left toward high ground. Cities are gone. Forests stand skeletal. What's left are castles, ruins, and towers, and the warriors desperate enough to fight over them.
Two Doom Companies of three fighters each scavenge resources and claw for control of a tower. Setup takes about three minutes, a game runs 30 to 45, and named warriors, Scouts, Scavengers, Brutes, Fighters, and Assassins, carry their own scars into the next match. Missions like "The Rising Mist" put you on the wall in turn one.
Why we're building these round
Built around the tower
1490 Doom is fought over one piece of high ground in the middle of the board. A circular mat puts the fight where it belongs and drops the dead corners.
Double-sided, twice the table
Each mat prints two full designs on one piece of neoprene. Cobblestone on one side, forest on the other. Swamp on one, mud on the other. Flip it and you've got a new fight.
Same neoprene, same standards
1.5mm neoprene, sublimation printed so the color sits in the material. Lies flat out of the box, quiet under dice, survives a full campaign.
Pick your ground
One side is worn castle cobblestone for close-quarters fighting on the wall. Flip it for a dark, decaying forest. Same mat, two very different battlefields.
$44.99One side is standing swamp water threading between what's left of solid ground. Flip it for sucking mud and decay, hallmarks of the Creeping Death.
$44.99Get both mats

Questions
What is 1490 Doom?
A skirmish game from BUER Games. Two players each run a three-fighter Doom Company scavenging resources and fighting for control of a tower in a world being swallowed by a toxic fog called the Creeping Death. Games run 30 to 45 minutes. Read more on BUER Games' site.
What are you actually making?
Two 24x24" round neoprene mats, each double-sided. Mat one is cobblestone on one side and forest on the other. Mat two is swamp on one side and mud on the other. Four full battlefields across two mats. Each mat is $44.99, or get both for $71.99.
Why round instead of square?
1490 Doom is built around a single central objective, the tower, so a circular mat matches how the game is actually played and cuts the unused corners a square board would have.
When can I order?
Both designs are in production. We don't have a firm ship date yet. Sign up and it'll be the first thing you hear when one is set.
Is this an official BUER Games product?
No. Skirmish Mats is an independent company making mats sized and themed for 1490 Doom. See the note below for the full disclaimer.
The tower won't hold itself
Two Doom Companies, one tower, and a fog that doesn't stop rising. Sort your battlefield before your first climb.
